Im looking to buy a cam kit from comp cams shortly, but Im not to up on what I should get for my set up. The motor is a 302, bored .40 over, heads proted polished, new valves, headers, looking to run a 4bbl. Now its just a prostreet truck, not looking for a huge cam, but want to go about as big as i can with what i got and not have to change valves or anything. Also preffered rocker arms. Thanks guys, its a huge help.

Need to know more about you'r combo, what heads, what springs, what intake and carb, is it a roller block? What are you'r intentions with this combo? ect. There are waayy to manny cams to chose from depending on what you want to do.

all of the above mentioned plus what trans are you using? If an automatic and you aren't willing to step up to a decent stall converter don't waste you time on a cam.

Heads: '69 torino stock heads, ported polished new oversized valves.
Springs: what ever comes with the cam kit.
Carb: probly gonna run an edelbrock 650 with a pretty basic edelbrock intake. (havent got my carb yet but thats likely it)
Block: '78 cougar block, non roller, bored .40
Tranny: I got two trannys, but I think im going with the 4 speed mustang trans.

As for my intentions with the combo; just looking for a nice cam lope in the sound, good street running for the weekends but also something that will peel the tires off and get up to speed pretty quick.

Hope that helps!

You're going to be limited by the pressed in rocker studs on those heads. You're going to be limited to nothing bigger than a Comp 268H with pressed in studs.

I ran a 270H with pressed studs once and no issue. Much bigger than that you should have screw in studs for sure. For a street driver the biggest I would go would be a 280H with 1.6 rockers, above that you will start losing vaccum for power brakes and it will be beyond a little lope. All else fails call comp or whoever they will definitely guide you in the direction you need.

I did a similar combo, .030 over 302, comp 270H, performer rpm and 600cfm for a guys 65 Falcon. It has great street drivability and pulls hard to 5500, good old school combo.
