First post here. I just got a 1991 Ranger ext cab 2wd and i'm looking for a drop in bed liner. The bed is a little beat up, and there is a few dings in the rails, so a drop in plastic bed liner would really clean up the back end. Problem is, the older bed liners seem hard to find. Does anyone know if any other small pickups share the same bed liner dimensions as the 91, and what years of the Ranger are the same size? I'm sure this has been brought up in previous threads, and I scoured the forums before posting, so my apologies for redundancy.

I can help. I have a 92, basically same as yours, and I used a used bedliner from a 2001. The box dimentions are the same, but the newer bedliner seems to have wider upper bedrail/fender covers so they stick out a little. Doesn't bother me though. You could trim them down with a good knife or maybe a Dremel if you liked. Mine was in good condition $50 off CL.

the inner portion of the beds are the same, but the bed rails are where the differences are. as fast doc said gen I and II have narrow bed rails and gen III and up have wider bed rails.

Thanks! Since trimming them up wouldn't be that big of deal, that will make finding one much easier. Thanks for the replies!

As Fast Doc already posted the difference between
the Gen1-2 ('83-92) Bedliners and gen3-up Bedliners
is the width of the top lip

HOWEVER that is a non-issue if you get an "under the rail" bedliner

The "wider lip" only applies to "over the rail" drop in liners.

My 2002 stock under-rail longbox bedliner *almost* fits perfect in my 97 ... there's a quarter or half inch length difference: bit of trimming and caulking.
