i know that you are supposed to look at the federal sticker thing near the door to find out your axles and gears and whatnot, but mine is worn off. how can i get the info that should be on there

Google is your friend..............rear is an 8.8 with disc brakes if you in fact have a 4.0 engine, the front is a dana 35 gear ratio could be between 3:07 to 4:10 depending on your options it will tell you on the tag on the diff cover of the axle

Even 4.0 Rangers won't have factory disc brakes until 2010.
a 4.0 truck WILL be an 8.8" axle.
an FX4 Level-II will have fatter axle tubes and 31-spline shafts
