Ok a few questions.

What is this device above the thermostat housing?

What is this unknown hose attachment coming from the firewall?

Do i need anything from this solenoid panel right now(besides starter sol) before the duraspark conversion?

What all is supposed to be on the starter sol?

Lastly the duraspark gets rid of these two wiring harnesses right?

The device next to the thermostat is the egr valve. I reccomend disabling it and plugging the hole with a metal plate.
I have no idea what that hose is on the firewall.
Don't get rid of the wiring harnesses yet. When you do the duraspark conversion you'll be able to tell what is needed (if anything) by working backwards from the engine to the harness.
I unplugged all of those eec solenoids with no effect but, again, leave them connected until the conversion. You never know, some of them might still be working.
Let me know how the conversion goes; I'm doing it as soon as I can afford to.
Good Luck!

Thanks Daniel84RangerXLT2.8l

I honestly had no clue that was the egr. I guess i could of followed the wires back to the egr solenoid but i did not think of that till now.
As for the solenoids i am sure they are still running hot but since i have plugged the main vacuum and got rid of the vacuum reservoir they are not really doing anything. Once i get the duraspark conv. done ill post some final pics on the 2.8 thread.

The hose on the firewall is the drain. The heater core box has a drain to let condensation out.

Pull the harness througth the firewall once you disconnect the computer and just start disconnecting everything up to the alternator. From the grey 8 wire connector by the ignition coil strip the harness back to the alternator. you should only have to cut a couple wires to remove the computer harness. leave the water temp and oil pressure wires in tact as well as the alternator wires and cut the wires from the 8 wire connector long for future use just remove the solenoids, vacuum reservor and all the vacuum tubing all you need is vacuum to the distributor if your still using the stock feedback carb. Just remember to cut any wires long is case you mess up you can still splice them back together. I think the ony two wires I had to cut was computer power (same wire for the coil pos) and the neg to the coil from the distributor. If yours is a 85 the wires are a bit different but still pretty easy. Keep the temp and oil sensers connected as well as the alternator and just put them in a loop comes out looking nice and clean.
