What are these connectors right behind the fusebox on a 94 Ranger?

Hello

Black 2 wire square on is your timing and the other 2 (grey and funny looking one) are for a code reader

On my 87 2.9l the two wire black one had a plug in it connecting the two wires in some way. BTW, you can make a code reader with some wires and LED a some other things, they have a diagram in repair manuals.
