What am I? Who am I? Can a 5.0 fit?

Its close enough... its a mazda with a ford logo... :ROFLMAO:

What do you think the "m" in m5od stands for...

Plus they are probably really rare. So I would probably not want to "ruin" its originality

You'd almost have to these days. Certain parts are NLA. My aunt sold hers because parts for it were getting hard to find, more expensive because of it, and finding someone that actually knew how to work on it was also getting rare. Her engine was getting tired and finding all of the parts for the rebuild was apparently too much. Her mechanic advised her to get rid of it.

My favorite part about the old Couriers was the tiddy shaped gauge covers, and just the sheer simplicity of them.

Dang it, Now you guys got me shopping for Couriers again. It's a good thing this one is so far away or it would be mine immediately.

It's amazing how clean the inside of the bed is. Original paint and no rust is almost unheard of on these trucks. It's definitely lived an easy life compared to most of them. Worth every penny of the asking price in my book..

Or mazda...

Or mazda...

If you want to make stuff up it could stand for meatloaf too.

When Ford named the trans it meant manual though.

Had a early 70's Courier with the 289 then 302 with the C4 and 8" rear end out of a Mavrick. Surprised a lot people. Rot faster than a Ranger.

Rot faster than a Ranger.
this statement confuses me...
are talking in SCOOBY DOO voice?
did it actually rot faster than your Ranger?
or is it a typo?

But ford didn't name it... Mazda did... when they built it...

And the M in M5OD-HD made by ZF for 3/4 ton+ trucks means what?

The M50dr1/r2 s a Mazda transmission. The zf s5-42/47 is not. The zf s5 is not named the m50d... that's how names work.
