A box of cookies with lemon icing in the middle finely crushed, 250 gram whipped cream cheese, mixed together. Melted chocolate.
Came out really good.
You can use any flavor cookie you want.

first time making pierogis tonite. Made cheesy garlic mash potatoes. And pulled pork slow cooked in Dr Pepper. Stuffed those baby’s up. And did a light pan fry. Came out awesome.

Where’s the onions and butter? Old polish ladies are rolling over in their grave!

I love perogies.

My mom is presently working on making perogies and hot sausage/sharp cheddar ravioli

I’m in charge of dinner tonight, trying a recipe for jambalaya I found in one of my craft beer cookbooks

For tonight’s dinner...

Fettuccine with homemade Alfredo sauce.

Dinner time around here sure did change. I'm trying to figure out how to make dinner these days with NO meat... eggs or dairy. The wife wants to go full on Vegan... but it appears we've settled on vegetarian... for now. A little cheese... sour cream egg whites and a dab of butter here and there are about as far as she lets me go though.

The jump from fried chicken and home made mac and cheese to Vegan was pretty large... too large. once I get this vegetarian thing down... jumping to Vegan will be much easier. She does know that venison was never removed from our menu... I just don't have any. The deer better be scared of me next year... because they're what's for dinner in my future.

Vegetable hash and egg white Frittata...

It's definitely not easy for most of us. You can do it. Explore Indian, Asian and Mediterranean foods. Lots of tasty vegetarian/vegan options there.

I had a wataburger chicken fajita taco with a medium fry and unsweet tea

"ChuckEye" is a poor mans "FiletMignon" at half the price; they grill up good & tender.

Quiet there. I've been buying those for 10 years and now the word is out and they have tripled in price. Only two of them come off each chuck. Much more flavorful than a filet mignon. Got one on the grill right now.

that would be killer, not having real ice tea.

its funny. growing up on the west coast and in texas, we only had unsweet tea. when i was stationed in south carolina and georgia, all you could get was sweet tea. i came back to texas after getting out of hte army and one or two places had sweet tea, like on the east coast. now, you have to specify unsweet tea or you get sweet tea every where.

so, since 95, sweet tea has migrated all the way across the united states and become the main thing ordered when you ask for tea. totally opposite of when i was a kid

So, my post back awhile ago about the Jambalaya… it was excellent. I could probably share the recipe if anyone wants it.

Thursday I made my Haluski (however you want to spell it), but used Irish butter. Huge difference, everyone smashed on it hard. So that is getting the change to only using Irish butter

What is Haluski?

I love Jambalaya... I probably like dirty rice even more. Just not sure how to make the rice dirty without meat... probably going to try some day with mushrooms instead of burger.

Depending on who you ask, you get different answers, lol.

It can be made with or without meat. My version I use a little kielbasa, I’ll slice it lengthwise onto quarters and chop it up. Throw that into an iron skillet and fry it up a little, then add chopped onion and cook a minute then add chopped cabbage, garlic and butter. Lots of butter. Cook until the cabbage is mostly softened. Add in noodles and enough butter to get everything coated. Serve and enjoy. Sometimes I’ll throw some chopped carrots in with the cabbage or a little later. The butter is key though. There is no substitute and you have to use a lot or it just doesn’t come out right. I’ve tried. This last batch I used an entire small head of cabbage, an onion and a half, and two whole sticks of butter. I went a little heavier than usual with the meat. Two and a half heaping spoons of minced garlic.
