I installed my new Holley carb yesterday and it didn't come with a throttle ball to hook the throttle cable to it. I called Holley and they said they don't ship them with new throttle balls. I have to get my own.

Damn!

If I would have known that, I would have kept the one on my old carb I sent back to Holley.

I went to my local part stores to find one. Nobody carried them.

Did I mention........Damn!!

I was going to order one from Jegs. I haven't received a catalog from them in a long time, so I figured this would be an easy way to get back on the mailing list.

They carry a Holley throttle ball kit with (4) balls and an Edelbrock part with just (1) throttle ball in it.

Not sure which one I'm going to order. I hate to order the Holley kit and end up with (4) extra un-needed parts.

I can't believe this stupid little part is holding me up.........

when i put the 390 on my 2.8 4 some years ago i just went down to the local napa that sold holley parts think it cost me like 6 bucks but i did have like 3 or 4 left over. But it seemed to be commonly stocked at every place that sold holley parts. Try a local speed shop they always have tons of holley parts

That actually sounds very familiar. My camper has this triangular piece of metal attached to the gas pedal. It rotates and has a ball attached to it, which connects to the throttle cable...etc. Anyway the cable end is worn out, and it's not removable, so if you give it more than 1/4 throttle it pops off and you're stuck at idle. It really sucks if that happens in the middle of a 4 lane street through town (happened the weekend of the 1st)

I tried just finding another cable...no luck... the damn thing is a 73 and parts are impossible to find. I ended up just drilling a hole through it and bolting it to the triangle plate.

yeah...theres other ways to deal with this like shran mentioned..
