Quick story, truck has had cel on for quite some time now. Showed p0171,p0174 and p0401. So after checking all vacuum lines and hoses and spraying carb cleaner on the intake and finding everything ok I start searching and find that those codes go hand in hand with the dpfe, egr. So what do I do? Of course I went and bought a new dpfe. Cleared the codes and drive it throught two cycles and on my way home guess what shows back up? Right, cel!!! Now I guess I have to TRY to get the rusted egr and pipes off my rusted manifold.
Any body have any other ideas? I'm at a loss and dont want to spend all that money for egr stuff.

egr Should be 1 1/8 wrench, best thing to do is cut the wrench in half in order to fit it up in there, I also used an air hammer with a v notch chisel tip to hammer the nut off a crown vic. It worked without damaging anything. I cnat recommend the EGR delete cause its not allowed otherwise I probably would have.

Sounds like your problem is in or around the egr valve. 3 things come to mind, the tube or valve is blocked, the valve isn't getting vacuum to open, or the valve itself has failed.
