I went to the local Tear-A-Part today, and found what used to be a rotor on a late 90's Lincoln Continental. I thought I'd share the photo I took. I'm not sure how the owner couldn't feel/hear/see that this thing was shot.

Eh, I don't know, what is the minimum thickness? You might be able to turn 'em and reuse them once more. :icon_twisted:

That's not that bad....the backings of the pads are still there....

Looks more like a rotor spring...they were an option on certain models to make the brake pedal bounce to keep the driver awake...

hahahaha... looks like something that comes from AutoZone.

Even if it's just been sitting for a ong time and the rust ate through it almost completely....sheesh. THAT is pinching pennies. Sounds like me :)

whatever shane, there's easliy another 5k left on those rotors

Funny you should say that, because at first glance I saw a spring bouncing around (it's pretty windy today), then my next thought was "what the hell is that?".

I see a lot of idiots driving everyday with bald tires and cracked or broken windows or no headlights!!! Nothing unusual there, Bro.....lol

we have a piece similar to that hanging on the wall of our shop, oriellys called and a lady needed a tire patched took the tire off and a metal circle fell off (It used to be a rotor). She said she would come by and have a new rotor put on, haven't seen her and that was about 7months ago....

Unfortunately I've seen a number of rotors like that...

I think that if you can't tell that your rotor is bad and it gets to a point like that, the shop should just take your license and cut it in half because you're obviously not smart enough to be on the road.
