I can't speak for the amp... all I've used is Rockford Fosgate for amps and I've been extremely happy with 'em. My first was a 200 watt rms single output, I shoved it under the seat in my Ranger an forgot about it for a couple years (in other words, never gave a thought to the fact that they get HOT and that under the seat is not really good for air flow). Never missed a beat, it's now taking up space awaiting a new use since I upgraded to a supposed 800 watt rms dual output (birth sheet says it'll put out 915 watts rms). Bridged it down with a pair of 4-ohm subs. On any other amp doing such a thing would likely be considered abuse, but the only problem I had was when someone worked on my truck and I didn't think to check my ground (they moved it and it wasn't getting good contact). Amp fried, sent it back to RF and they rebuilt it an shipped it back, all I had to pay for was to get it to them. Well worth the money I'd say.

I ran 4-gauge from the battery for supply, then used some gold plated splitter blocks to go to a pair of 8 gauge into the big amp. For the new ground (after my lil issue), I went to a pair of 8 gauge to a gold plated splitter to a 4 gauge that goes to the negative battery terminal, I wanted to be sure the new ground was good (and many competition systems run a ground right back to the battery rather than the chassis).

Other than that input, good luck with it!

oh hey i forgot to tell you if you plan to go bigger ever, you should just invest in the kicker 0ga dual amp kit. i got it for 100 bucks off ebay and its rated at 300A and 4000 watts.... so a one time thing and gives you plenty of room if you ever want to upgrade, wont have to dig up old wires =]

yeah ill just do this and if i ever did go bigger, than i just run new wires. this is the biggest ill go on speakers. if anything i might add a second amp and subs later. but ill see how i like this first.

i dont like the amp kit or the amp. mb quart is nothing they used to be. that rockford you had in your last thread was a much better choice.

CHANGED AMP AND AMP KIT. LIST UPDATED.

i guess the money i was gonna spend on the sound deadener ill spend on a better amp.

now how is my list??

man i don't know i mean its a good solid amp i had many alpines in my life and i was happy with all of them but i used them for subs not speakers but they have a good rep and all that. but the wires is the issue that i have, i never used them i always payed a little bit extra to get either voodoo or rockford wiring. and i always do over kill to power my amps and stronger speaker wires from the amp to the speakers but thats just me i makes it alot easier for upgrades. there were cars that i hooked up with 2 awg wire to the cap and then to a single 1000 watt mono block amp and then 8 awg wire to the subs. but thats just to me but other than that i like what i see man good choices on all of it and it looks like you did your reseach and you did some good match ups.

thanks, 5 months of researching. lol

ONE MORE AMP CHANGE AND WIRE CHANGE

this one is more efficiant than the alpine.

i also took the advice of many and did a dual amp install kit for when i do my subs. its a 0/1 in and 4 out. overkill, but its better to overkill than under. also, i know its not the best name brand. but i maxed out my budget and this will work for me. the only thing im using is the power, ground, and distribution. im running my own remote wire..
