what yall think of welding the spider gears in a 7.5'' rear end? good way to snap an axle maybe? let me know what yall think?

mine was welded with 35's but i took it out after about a year because it would push out goin around corners on pavement

The spiders/main pin are the weak point of the 7.5. Once welded they are tough. weld the side gears to the diff housing as well.
This is a for off road use. It eats tires FAST on the pavement and attracts tickets.

Yea, deff don't weld it for the street. When I welded my B2, I welded the gears to the pin, the gears to the carrier, gears to each other and I even put a tack on the c clips just to prevent from them coming out to. I figured that if it does break It would be but cheaper and easier to just change the whole rear instead of playint around grinding it back apart. Plus mines just a $300 beater for the woods any way lol

Ya, unless your daily commute is on gravel or snow 100% of the time I think you'd better find another option. lol

It's a tradeoff really, do you have the constant need for more powered tires? Can you put up with the chirp/bark/scrubbing of tires at low speeds on dry pavement? Can you afford to put a set of tires on every year? If you answered yes to these three questions, go for it. It's not really that big of a deal really. On my dads ranger, I welded just the spiders to the side gears, and it's held up to 33 swampers and my dads lead foot. This way if you don't like it , you can spring for a lockright, and not need a new carrier. On another I welded up, I welded everything to everything, spiders to sides to carrier, this one is under a friends 2wd ranger, and he drives alot of miles everyday on that truck with no complaints. The key is a nice penetrating weld.
