welded rear

I just listed two things that are wrong with a lunchbox locker: excessive backlash, and they can lock unexpectedly.

I'm not saying they are worthless. They can be a good option for some people.
Like the 17 yr old kid,300 bucks was a chunk to me at that age,let alone and grand plus with a arb.and a axle worth dumping loot in to.

But they are not nearly as good as an ARB. An ARB costs more, but I think it pays for itself in the long run, especially if you drive on and offroad. Like I said looking back I really wish I had gone with an ARB when I put together my rear end, but I wanted to save some money and you always hear people say how great Lockrites and Aussies are. Well, as I found out, lunchbox lockers are not perfect.
I understand what your saying,"over all" a arb would be best. but then it would also be best to upgrade to a 31 spline 8.8 ,cause...... why dump loot in to a 28spline, and have chicken shit for resale value later down the road.

Also any automatic locker even fullcase lockers will still have some pop's and chirps. But the lunch box styles are worse.thier one size fits all sloppy so to say.
