okay, so im really wanting new speakers for my truck, but im wondering what will wire in? for my speakers i have 2 wires like always i guess, but im at the junk yard the other day look in a door on like a taurus or something, and the speaker has 3 or 4 wires and i was like wtf? so when im buyin new speakers is there like a certain speaker that will only work with 3+ wires? im not new to this just puzzled. and dumb and im confused on what the difference is between coaxial and like 2-3way

you should only have a positive and a negative cable going to the speaker. the difference between 2/3way is usually the three way has a extra tweeter, sometimes called super tweeter, to pick up the very high frequencies. i dont have any experience with 3ways so i couldnt tell ya the audible difference.

yes. There is always a positive and negative wire. I have 2-4 way pioneer TS-A1782R 6-3/4" speakers up front and 2-3 way pioneer TS-A1372R 5-1/4" speakers in the rear. pretty boomy and the highs sound beautiful. A heck of alot better than my dads speakers which are just 2-way speakers.

oh okay, i replaced the front door speakers with the speakers that were in the back, cuz the were destroyed, so i just got 2 book shelf speakers wired in, im just tryn to figure out which new speakers to buy. i have look at the ones u have but i think they were kinda pricey.

edit: just looked it up i can get some 3 pioneers similar to yours but 6x8s for like 60 bucks from walmart, going tomorrow.

i would expect these to outperform those pioneers.

ive been meaning to get these and use for rear fill. just havent got around to it. but i have ordered from ikesound before. just be sure to call up and check the availability. theyre notorious for having items listed and not having stock on hand.

Just an FYI on older cars there were common ground setups. Each speaker got one wire. IIRC the negative terminal to the speaker was connected to the car's ground. So not all setups have two wires per speaker.

well stopped by walmart today and got these but i payed 60 bucks instead of 80 for some reason, wired right in a bit ago sounds better and looks better than my previous set up
