Hey guys,

So my 85 Ranger is experiencing some slipping during acceleration. When I ease off the clutch and give it gas there is a slight slip and it feels like it is coming from the rear end of the truck. If I’m barely rolling in 1st gear and give it a good amount of gas it will do it then too. It doesn’t happen in any other gear or while driving. If I had to describe this slippage I would say it feels like there is something loose on the rear axle and it is slipping an inch or so during acceleration. But everything looks tight and in place.

What are your thoughts on this?

Its not the rear. A rear end issue like that should be present all the time. I would look at drive shaft, or maybe a contaminated clutch.
