Hey everyone this is my first post here, and I need some help. I have a 1995 ford ranger xlt and it's been solid as ever since I bought it (which wasn't long ago- about late november early december ish) And just recently something has started squeaking from the engine. The previous owner hardly ever drove this truck, he said he put about 300 miles on it a year. I believe him because I know him personally but he wouldn't know what's causing this.
The squeaking is only noticeable at idle to about 2000 rpm then it goes away completely. It started out just being annoying but now it's really loud and really obnoxious.
My guess is that it's a loose belt or something. But I suspect it could also be the alternator bearing.. Any ideas or suggestions on how to fix this? thanks.
