Anyone know what this lever is for? It’s in an ‘89

Not sure I've ever seen that one...

Maybe a fuel door release?

Engages the neutomium quantum drive for ludicrous speed.

Mine doesn’t have it either. Wonder if it’s the same box.

I'm glad that it wasn't the ejection seat.

I don't know for sure the what or why for the dropping fuse box being different from 1989 to 1994.

Even though the same basic dash design was used '89 tp '94, I'm guessing that the big change in the electrical wiring occurred with the move of the EEC from the passenger kick panel thru '92 to being underhood on the firewall starting with the '93's.

I need to watch for that assembly in the junk yard. Getting too old to always be twisting upside-down under the dash just to look at fuses.

I've owned several trucks in that year range and never saw that lever in any of them.

I still have to pull the dash but I suppose for the time being, I can check fuse locations between the ‘89 and my ‘94. If a guy was ambitious enough, he could probably re-pin the fuse panel to work in a newer truck.

Edit: I’m dumb. Just use the bracket if possible. I’ll pull the dash out tomorrow to take a closer look.

The drop box is in my '90 B2, but not in the '94 Ranger or my '94 Explores. Can't remember on the other 1989-92 years' that I've had in the past.

Can't you just get an app for that? Or don't they make fuse drones nowadays?
