i have a 1996 ranger with around 130,000 on the clock its a 4.0 stick. when you drive it every once in a while you hear a louad clunk. it souunds like a gear skipped a tooth. the clutch is new. dose any one have any idea on what it could be or where i should check first

Check the Universal joints? My 94 was doing that, most noticable when going from first to reverse or vice versa going slow such as in my driveway. But not all the time. Turns out the joint closest to the rear end had some slack in it. Replaced it and problem solved.
