Curb weight mean full fuel, nothing it didn't roll off the factory floor with, no passengers.
1993 Mazda B2600i 4x4 regular cab= 3305# curb
Fully equipped 4x4 4.0 Rangers are in the 3,600# range.
Here's a 2001 listed at 3,584#
Here's a 96 ext 3.0 4x4 listed at
3,300# empty. The 4.0 is probably 200# heavier considering the 8.8 axle that will probably be different. I didn't see a '97 listed.
Most scales are certified tare only, not gross. That's why I don't trust them. I've seen F150 4x4s weigh 3,500# at Kroots when I drop of scrap steel.
I have the CAT Scales ticket for my B2. This is totally empty--even the glove box with me in the driver's seat and a full tank. I'm 200# so it's probably 4,040# curb. That's with a heavy winch mount, winch, aftermarket suspension with heavy old-type Duff radius arms, stock rims with 31" tires, rear receiver hitch, CB, brake controller I dunno what else--4.0 and M50D replacing the 2.9 A4LD and the extra shocks and hoops, D35 instead of D28, 8.8 instead of 7.5. This truck was listed at
3385# curb which dispells the myth that Ranger's are heavier. My B2 has picked up 650# in bolt-on modifications and is now only 240# below it's GVWR on the door sticker. When I'm in it I can only carry about 40# worth of gear or I'm liable to get an arrest from motor vehicle enforcement. Just a lesson on how those modifications can add up.
