I recently bought an engine on ebay for my mazda. I am trying to get it shipped from Michigan to California. The shipper wants to know the exact weight for the engine. The engine is complete less the flywheel. So I was hoping that someone could give me an answer so I can get this engine to its rightful place which would be-in my truck.

Well I hate to sound cryptic but it all depends on your definition of complete. Alternator, air conditioning compressor, power steering pump, manifolds, oil in the crank case, etc. It would be easier if he put it in the back of a truck and drove over a scale someplace. Remember to weigh the truck first then come back with the engine on board so you get an accurate weight.

Oh...and.... Welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the welcome. It is actually a complete engine with everything on it less the flywheel and fluids. I hate to inconvenience the guy by making him drive to a scale and then having to drive back to report the weight to me. I thought there might be a way to get the weight through the manufacturer but I haven't had any luck.
