This is a great idea. "If your parents are holding your hand, you're never going to learn" That is the most retarded thing I ever heard. How is being able to go past 80 miles an hour or blasting the radio so loud that you can't hear around you going to help you learn anything? You aren't driving the family sedan to learn how to race at Lemans.
This is a useful tool for parents. We have all seen that far too many kids lack the self control or judgment to make smart decisions on driving speeds. I will not argue it since the NHTSA has figures out every year that consistently PROVE that teenage fatalities are highest in auto crashes AND the majority of them involve speed or distractions. This little gizmo will help limit both contributing factors. You can't stop them all but you can limit them.
As long as the government does not mandate this type of thing I am all for it. Right now it is a personal choice for people to make and that is a good thing.
While I agree, this a misleading statistic, of course car crashes are the number one killer of teens, because they don't die of old age, heart disease, cancer, ect. But yes I'm sure more teens are involved in accidents than everyone else.the NHTSA has figures out every year that consistently PROVE that teenage fatalities are highest in auto crashes AND the majority of them involve speed or distractions.
