i cant find anything in the library on "waterproofing" rangers. i mean yeah there is a snorkel but what else do i really need to seal up so i can bury the truck to the windshield in water?

i know the coil pack would need sealed up some how. but what about the ecu stuff and pcm blah blah blah

Ecu stuff should be fine since it's sealed into the upper firewall on the pass side in 97. Id worry more about coil packs, axle vent tubes and transmission vent tubes. All you need to do with the vent tubes is extend them alot, or route them into the cab of the truck.

might wanna look at fully sealing the intake, and possibly something to do with the alternator just because they are touchy sometimes.

You'll never be able to "waterproof" a vehicle, perhaps make it slightly more water resistant, the best thing to do is make sure you take everything apart and get the water out/mud/gunk out after you go through the water... I say snorkel, run the went tubes to the snorkel, dielectric grease in all the connections and a good cleaning after the dip...

sorry i forgot to say the obvious stuff like snorkel and vent tubes. i am doing the vent tubes this week and the snorkel probably this month. but i just wasnt sure on a electric level what needed sealed. coil pack def.

oh and actually you can waterproof a truck. there is a company in florida that can do it. they have a huge tank they put the truck in and can raise the level of water in it. then mark where water leaks in then later they find a way to seal it. it cost more than the whole truck but it is possible
