I started a new job a while back running a waterjet for an aerospace company. Im getting rather familiar and got the go ahead to make some parts for myself off the clock. Ive been working on some beadlock kits and was wondering what else could be done? Is there anything the ranger aftermarket is missing that I could possibly support? I also had the idea of making some ttb gusset kits to fix the common breaking points on the d35 ttb. would anyone be interested in that? Give me some ideas. Programming this stuff is fun!

weld-it-yourself lift bracket kits!! just makes some simple, beefy axle pivot and radius arm drop brackets (like 6" maybe), cut all the pieces flat, maybe put some tung and groove tabs so they fit together, and leave the welding up to the end user. could be super affordable, im sure you would sell a million if you kept the price around 150...

that's actually a good idea, just make sure you say you're not responsible for their welding... lol.

bumper sets to.. weld it yourself bumpers. save on shipping if its all flat lol.

the d35 gussets could be nice, as long as affordable, don't charge james duff prices.. lol.

by tung and groove tabs (not really the right term) i mean something like this:

just to ease assembly...

THE part I would make for Rangers if I had access to a water jet cutting machine would be exhaust manifold/header gaskets cut from copper sheet.

~0.040-0.045" would be ideal

-weld it yourself diff covers....you could go crazy with that, all sorts of different designs and possiblities.

-weld it yourself extended radius arm brackets and tranny cross member

-bumpers

-axle gussetting

-leaf spring perches

-shock tabs

-weld it yourself D35 pig skidplate

-doubler plates (i'd be interested in this. just depends on what thickness the waterjet will cut)

more will come to me, i'm always thinking of crap to build.

This machine is capable of nearly anything. I was cutting 2.25 steel plate this morning. Ill look into some radius arm brackets but id really like to do a double kit if I could figure it out. Anybody got a doubler plate laying around they would loan me?

Where exactly would u want this insert to fit? Like in one of the rectangles? Above or below the Ford oval?

check out the tech library on the DIY doubler build. i bet you could get enough info to do a layout for the doubler plate. or see if someone has one that isnt assembled yet. maybe they'd trace it for you.

i'd love an affordable doubler plate... and then you gotta worry about the shaft.

well ill be in tomorrow to talk with my local metal supplier about some steel and aluminum plate. I have a spare t-case kicking around so i guess i could split that and make my own template. Likely I will start by making some bombproof lift brackets or a d35 skid.
