Water pump replacement - Brands to not use?

I plan on replacing the water pump while I have other work to do on the engine, which just turned 138K miles. I like to use Motorcraft/oem parts whenever possible, unless they are outrageously priced. I am ok with using a good quality aftermarket replacement, but want to get some opinions on brands to stay away from. Any suggestions or recommendations?

I've had horrible luck with GMB pumps. Stay far away. I would use a Motorcraft pump. Try Rock Auto, they will probably have one.

Great i just bought a new GMB pump from advanced for my 302 . I put an autozone one on my 2.8 and had no problems with it.

Oh boy.... good luck. I had issues with GMB on my Mustang, and my Explorer. I eventually got my money back on the Mustang pump when I had them check my return history. They don't like high rpm's.

I would use a Motorcraft pump.

i'd stay away from valucrap (valucraft) at autozone. actually just stay away from EVERYTHING valucraft at autozone. the duralast stuff may not be any better, but it usually comes with a lifetime warranty that they keep for you as long as you can remember your phone number
