Any quality issues of Duralast or Valucraft water pumps from AutoZone? Is it worth spending the extra $14 to get the limited lifetime warranty vs. the 1 yr warranty?

I'm getting poor coolant circulation and I don't know yet if it's the pump or radiator. This weekend I'm flushing the radiator and block (it's been about 5 years) and I want to have a pump on hand just in case it's the pump since I'll have the radiator out.

I'm thinking the impeller blades might be worn down since it's the original pump with 196k miles on it.

Any thoughts are welcome.

Buy the lifetime, you'll need it. I replaced mine about every 2 years on my Explorer because they started to leak out of the weep hole. Their pumps are junk IMHO. Buy Motorcraft if you can afford it. When my pump on my Ranger dies I'll buy Motorcraft.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, the ones I replaced constantly were GMB, not Duralast. Maybe the Duralast is made by a better supplier?

I went through GMB pumps like crazy on my Mustang until I bought an Edelbrock which has been on there for 10 years with absolutely no issues.

It looks like I'll have to go with the Duralast. The only place I can find a Motorcraft is a Ford dealer 45 miles away and they want $140 for it. I can afford it, but I have other things I need that money for. If I have to replace it in a few years then I'll think about getting a Motorcraft.

Anyone else have an opinion about Duralast water pumps?
