I recently picked up a 2nd bronco II . I was looking under the hood the other day and I saw a steady stream of water off the cowliing right on the distributor. the old cap that was replaced had a couple corroded posts on it now I know why . My question is should I make a shield or is something pluged on the body causing it to over flow there? Has anyone heard or seen this before?

So with the hood open it leaks right down inside? That makes sense but not if the hood is closed. IIRC, there might be a seal that runs along the inside of the cowl that seals between the cowl and hood. Check out LMCtruck.com to see if they have it. My truck doesn't.

Yeah there should be a rubber weather strip across the cowl that seals off the back of the hood when it is closed.
