I was surfing my local C List this weekend and came across a Warn Trans4mer winch mount / brush guard for a 1998-2000 Ford Ranger for $75. After seeing a couple pics of others mounting them on late model's I knew I could make it fit..
The top brackets that mount over the bumper had to be cut removing one of the three bolting points, then the lower brackets wouldn't utilize the original hardware so I had to run by the store to pick up a pair of bolts. Installation was quick and easy. It is Rock solid.
Picked up a HF 6k winch as I didn't necessarily budget any of this expense. After the 20% off coupon and Clist purchase I'm in this $300. I don't plan on using it a lot so hopefully the few times it will be needed it will work. Here are some pictures of it on my 2005 Ranger, still have to hook up some wires and install the roller.
