wanting to take the lil ranger on a 300 mile trip

^^ x2. Frank is King when it comes to getting right down to reality in any given situation.

next time i'm back home in Indiana visiting relatives, i'm going to have drive a few miles further and buy you lunch, Frank.

Thank you, haha.

Better go to a buffet my friend, Jusk ask slo.vo he had to go on food-stamps after he hosted me for a weekend :icon_rofl:

Anybody from the ranger station that ever passes this way is welcome to stop by and hang out or go wheeling for the day with me anytime. If I'm at work that's ok, you can help me with the cattle and ride in the combine (if I'm not at gov job)

Frank, if I EVER find myself in Western Kentucky, I just might take you up on that offer.
Ride the combine, huh? I LOVE big stuff!

I'll call you when I'm 12 hours away and you get a pot of burgoo started. By the time I get there, it might be perfect!

my focus got 38-40mpg hwy so i think that would be the logical choice just based on fuel cost. but on the other hand people will give you less of a hard time in the ranger. as far as a/c goes do like me and turn on the 2/55 air lol

A/C and better mpg make the Focus a winner hands down.
BTW, I have a 2004 Focus wagon for a company car and it goes like stink. I had cruise control added on so I wouldn't get speeding tickets. Without it I would find myself going like, 90 mph, and the car was so quiet I didn't notice.

Well, we took the focus down and cracked the windshield (damned gravel) while I was driving, the radio also randomly quit for what seemed like hours (actually around 25 minutes at the most) and one of her tires randomly goes flat at the gas station. and it all seemed to happened while I drove it or just got done driving it. It didn't have any problems when she drove it. :dunno: On the trip back up she wouldn't let me drive it either.
Because of the crack in the windshield we didn't have the A/C on for a majority of the trip.

and my truck wasn't happy with me leaving it alone for the week either. :annoyed:
just for the record I would rather be in the doghouse from my GF then my Ranger.

I guess my luck with newer cars isn't all that good.

I have taken numerous trips in the truck with the wife....She actually prefers it over her 4 door speck. (She has a Hyundia i10...Google it if you want). We are actually planning to take it to Italy this winter for vacation...The only complaint she has about it is that she had no lamp to read her book at night...or no DVD player to watch a movie...

Why the hell didnt you run the a/c and what does it have to do with teh cracked windshield? The temp difference isnt extremem enough to spiderweb I wouldnt think.

Id love to drive a ranger in italy. Nater check craisglist and find yourself an indash dvd player. Or get a 200 dollar one from wally world.

now you can tell her you'll be driving the truck on the next camp out to save her car. also, you'll need to buy a lift for it to get the windshield up high enough that rocks won't get it. also, you'll need to upgrade the stereo system and add satellite radio so there are no more dead radio issues. oh, and don't for get to mention the new off-road tires that will handle anything and not go flat. as far as ac, if it isn't in the truck, guess she'll just have to ride topless... or something. good luck there guy!

I cant wait to use my camper shell for camping this fall. Luckily I was stubborn and spent the extra time and money looking for a supercab too. I remember driving my 93 regular cab and sitting straight up in that seat on a road trip is hell on my back.
