I have an 88 ranger xlt that i am wanting to swap out my d28's for the d44 running gear out of a mid 80's bronco or f150, what all am i going to be needing from the downer rig to make this a successful swap? i am going to leave the beams stock width to increase the width of my truck and eventually run the autofab d44 long travel kit, i just need to make sure i get the right stuff when i visit the junkyard as soon as i get some more cash. thanks for the help in advance.

gonna have to fab some custom axle pivots...the eye to eye distance between the two are wider on the fullsize than the ranger IIRC. Use the fullsize radius arms too. Theres a guy with a BII on a local board who did it, said it wasnt too hard.

You might want to consider swapping a 35 in there. It's basically a bolt-in swap and with a few mods is nearly as strong as a 44.

There are some good writeups in the tech section for swapping a 44 TTB into an RBV.

He said he wanted to increase his width.

I think the Autofab kit comes with most of what you'll need, although I can't say for sure.

Swapping in a fullwidth D44 TTB (not using the kit) will need the coil buckets moved out off the frame an inch or two. You'll need the F-150 steering linkage (or make something custom for it), and you'll need to modify the radius arm mounts.
Also, the D44 beams will need to be lengthened 1" each near the pivots (or alternatively you can trim the longside shaft down 1-2").
