Cat's changed front flange for 88. You need an 88 or later.

1987 is different from 1988

1986-87 2.9 engine ONLY used a similar but different flange with two separate round pipes side-by-side.

1988-94 V6 engines use an oval pipe inside a vaguely triangular flange
