i got a 99 4x4 that came factory with 16 inch rims i bought a set of almost new 31 1050 15 with rims and i put em on try and back up and wouldnt budge so i got out and looked and the rim is sittin rite on the dam caliper wats the difference in my truck and a 99 that came factory with 15s

my gfs brother has a 98 4x4 with 15s on it im gonna look at his brakes and c wat the diff is

its on the inside of the rim its almost the whole inside of the rim is sittin on the caliper

Are you sure they are ranger rims? It sounds like you got some Jeep rims or something. They have the same lug pattern, but the backspacing is different. This could cause your caliper to hit the rim.

this happens frequently on here, some people i think just grind down the caliber

Could get some rims with an offset that will fit ur truck or some spacers might work

i would get wheel spacers not grind down the calipers. your brakes are pretty important.

what wheels are you running? any jeep factory wheels won't fit a 98+ 4x4 ranger. I've never had a set of 15" rims NOT fit my truck...and we've got the same brakes. 03+ have larger rotors than us, thus pushing the caliper outward.

there aftermarket american racing rims ill post a pic 2morrow wen its daylite and i really want 15s cuz i think they look better then 16s imo there 2 big

what rims and backspacin do you fx4wannabe wont a 4 inch backspacin make my tires stick out preety far im new to aftermarket wheels and no bout the tech article but i wanna get some opinions on stuff

4" BS is perfect. If it's an 8" rim and with 11.50 or 12.50 tires, it'll put the tire just to the edge of the flare. they probably don't fit because they may be 15x7 and because they are aluminum, the inside of the rim ridges just aren't right for the truck. It happens occasionally with older aftermarket aluminum wheels.

they r preety old rims and my spare is a 15 and it worked wen i blew my tire out and it was on the front thanks for the response yea 8 inch wide rim is wat i was goin to get
