Want to lift ranger, how to and price?

I recently bought a 97 ford ranger. I want to lift it about 4-6 inchs. unfortunately i am knew to mechanics and have no idea where to start.

Can anyone give me a DIY tutorial on how to do this.

also how much would i be looking at including tires and rims?
