regular cab

only things i have done to it so far (you're gonna laugh)
new dash speakers
sub/amp coming soon
replaced burnt out headlight (haha)
complete new front brakes (rotors, bearings, pads)
valve gasket covers coming soon (leaks oil bad...)

been thinking that a new intake system would be cool
not gonna do huge tires or body lifts or lowerings... don't have the need for them

don't off road or trail
don't tow anything
rarely haul anything

i know i know.. what's the point then?
anyway, just looking for some stuff i could do this summer

oh, forgot to add i basically have no automotive experience... so dumb things down when you explain them to me haha.

rims probably can't be too cheap.. but i'll check on them.
where can i find what size and all that stuff will fit?
i have a 5 lug nut pattern if i remember correctly

lol i'll pass on the chain steering wheel... not quite my style:icon_rofl:

stick on hood scoops and a spoiler to keep the rear end down at high speeds

I could see some nice rims but oh my god -- chain steering wheel and dingle berries! Maybe on a '59' chebby. Can't remember the last time I saw them two but I was probably laughing. You're having way to much fun!

track down some alumanum rims from a newer ranger and pollish them up. I've got three sets of rims, one pollished an two painted. To bad yo live so far away, I'd give them to ya. Get a nice paint job, nothing realy flashy just somting to freshin it up. a nice set of stock rims and a fresh paint job would realy change the attitude. If your gonna go with hood scoops dont buy thouse G.A.Y stick on ones from the shops. Hit up a wrecking yard and search for a scoop off of an older mustang. I scored one from a 79 gt once. They have a nice squarish look to them that realy suits the older body style. Also, ditch that old school bug gard, it just screams....well....lack of tast lol. Like I said, look for some rims from newer rangers, they all have the same bolt pattern.

I'd do or get done a good tune up/oil change with good parts. If you keep it tuned up then you can tell more easily when something isn't right. You might check the junkyards for some good stock aluminum rims. Some junkyards crush all the old stuff and some don't. A junkyard not far from here has around 10 or so old Rangers/Bronco II's. Nice looking truck though :)

bug guard was gone when i got it... left two rust spots where it was mounted too... pissed about that

yeah i should check around some paint shops around here and see how much a paint job would be... getting rid of the topper once i get the rear window fixed (latch assembly is gone... so it doesn't close) so the topper wouldn't have to be painted.

i've also wanted to do a spray in bed liner, but thinking that people are giving like herculiner a good rep.. and might try that, however i wanted bedliner material along the bottom of the truck since i already have quite a few rust spots under the "dark paint" (actually a decal)... could see if anybody can just cut all that bottom off, replace with anything and then put bedliner material over the top and you wouldn't know that it wasn't original body part that i put the bedliner on.

looked on google for some rims.. found some decent ones, might be in the future

looking to do the oil change when i replace the valve gasket covers... get a new filter new synthetic oil.. was going to do a fuel filter change too, not sure how in depth that is.

i don't think i want to do a hood swap, even though i've considered it, because i want to keep the somewhat original look.... but i think a hood scoop might look kind of funny on that old of a truck.. especially since it's only a 2.9l v6 lol.. hood scoops usually only seem to look good, i guess from what i am thinking right now, on nice performance cars

My suggestion is to do the grill mod. Looks good and helps keep your cooling fins from getting bent from flying road debris.

are you talking about this?

welding heavy duty gutter guard on the backside of the grill?

i like this style of grill better than my current one... anybody know any straight swaps for grills on an 88 ranger?

there isn't. you always could swap to a 2nd gen front end but you need to replace the core support and fenders and bumper too.

oh, you could get a one piece fiberglass front end that was designed to look like a newer ranger (expensive though!)

how intensive is the first option?

time difficulty (remember.... zero auto experience) and money

WINDOW TINT, Intake Maybe even a little exhuast work.

i've seen some really shitty (bubbly) window tint... something better left to the professionals?

does really dark tint make the inside of the cab hotter by alot?

i wouldn't mind going as dark as i can legally.
