Want a good rumble...

Hello everybody. I'm new here and new to the Ranger. Just bought an 2003 4.0 L V6 4x4 this weekend. I was just hoping to get your guys suggestions on what kind of muffler to put on it to get that kind of low rumble when the truck is started and accelerates, but disappears when driving normally. And please, nothing that sounds like a ricer. Nothing is more embarassing than a truck that sounds like a ricer. Thanks!

many threads. and youtube search yields alot but... youtube sound to real life are two different things. some say flow masters... i just went stock... till i get a v8 im not too worried but nice buy i got same cept a 99 and i love my truck even if i cant bring my son in it till he can sit in front seat lol.

just so you know us 98+ rangers are expensive to lift with few options. at least 4x4 is hard to... easier with a 2wd.

Since you have a newer truck you probably have 2.25 diameter exhaust but if not you might want to consider swapping out for 2.25. I second the thrush mufflers I run the turbo and it has a nice rumble

I put the thrush welder on my 4.0 Saturday. I like it so far, kindle sounds like a mustang gt at idle but doesn't sound like anything I've heard under throttle.
