Why don't you just drive drunk. Kill an innocent family while your at it. Same thing

Some idiot will respond to your post and tell you how.

I agree, you never know when something is gonna happen and this would just make it 10 times more dangerous. You need to be alert when you drive and watching a movie while you drive would not help, but I'm sure you know this.

Im pretty sure he would want to do this so a passenger could watch while he drives... at least i hope. or maybe his ebrake lever is stuck or something.

wow harsh guys you went a little overkill there not like i plan on watching movies while i drive its so i can play a movie or have a slide show on when ever i want not just when the E-Brake is on. Some of my trails i go to are over an hour away my passenger would probably like it if a movie was on. But thanks for the input i guess

Thanks Pillen140 at least you dont judge people before you know the whole story. Some people have anger problems mommy and daddy didnt show enough love as a child i guess:icon_cheers:

buddy used a simple toggle switch in his expedition... don't know how it was wired up... wifey's deck in her f150 works without the e-brake on, but then again, she's got screens in the headrests, so i'm sure my stereo guy did some magic to bypass it.

Check your local laws before you go doing this. I know up here, the driver cannot be in view of any screen that is playing movies (that's not exactly how it's worded, but that is the intent).

I've known two people now that have gotten fines for having this done to their systems. One actually had his car impounded, but he was being a dick to the cop at the time. All they have to do is drive up next to you, see the screen playing a video and you're busted.

Personally, I do know how to bypass these systems as I used to install them on a regular basis...but I refuse to tell people. It's stupidly dangerous. All it takes is one second of not paying attention to the road and you're in serious trouble, and most likely someone else is too. I personally don't agree with people being able to watch a navigation system either as it is just as distracting...which is one reason I stopped installing these things.

I completely agree with it being distracting, but I'd like for my passenger to have a screen to watch a movie or play a game if i put some kind of console in. I would want the screen on the passenger side visor. Not really visible for me but perfect for the passenger. Then, if I was really bored waiting somewhere, I could switch seats and be entertained while I waited. Thats just my thoughts.

If grounding it did'nt work then your goin to have to put a toggle switch on it. What i mean by that is ground one side of the switch and hook the other side of it to the parking brake wire from the radio. The reason for the switch is that some tv's parking brake wires have to be grounded after the tv has power. Hope that will help you.

When I had mine in my B2 I just grounded the green "parking brake" wire on the head unit and it always worked fine. No, I didn't watch it while I was driving ever. I just didn't feel like pissing around running another wire to my e brake which couldn't be used because the cables were rusted solid.

use a relay and have the remote wire turn on the switch part then a ground to the other side of the switch, then hook up your green wire to the coil part of the relay and off the other side of the coil part have that going the ground...it needs to see ground each time that the deck is turned on not constantly grounded
