I am going to change out my whole dash cluster and do a custom one. but I need a voltage regulator for the new Gas gauge.

Does any one know where to get a 5v voltage regulator?

You can get a 5v regulator from radio shack for a few cents but I don't know if it will work for that application.

yeah i looking at that on the internet last night. I was wondering the same thing. I got on youtube and saw this guy make one. I am going to try it. The only thing i am concerned about is if it is a 5v pulse?

The regulator will give you a constant supply of 5V. I would assume the gas gauge would work on a 0 - 5V analog signal meaning if you supply the sending unit with 5V, you should get a 0 - 5V signal back 0 being empty and 5V being full.

I have never really messed with gas gauges, but I do industrial instrumentation and did electronics in college. This is my assumption on how it would work. Someone please correct me if I am wrong :icon_thumby:

so you are saying if I built a 5v regulator that has a constant 5v then I would be alright?

It is an Equus fuel level gauge and this is all the info the give me for it. I do not know if this is enough info or not? I pulled this info directly from the equus site.

Ya, thats way better than any answer I could've given you. Make sure to post if it works so someone in the future can reference it.
