vibration issue

a couple of years ago I started to get a vibration above 55. It feels like a bad u joint. I've had the drive shaft balanced and u joints replaced twice and replaced everything that moves or rotates, Above 55 mph I have a fast vibration when I decelerate or go down hill. Accelerating and going up hill is fine I have owned a lot of trucks but this has me totally stumped. 05 Ranger 4WD 4.0

Everything that I could think of has been balanced or replaced. It starts vibrating at 55 MPH only when decelerating or going down hill. Nobody can figure it out.

Have you tried putting it in neutral & letting it idle while coasting down a long hill (might be illegal in NJ) to see if that has any affect on the vibration? Have you tried shutting off the engine in the above scenario (might be illegal in NJ).

You might have a slightly out of round tire. Or possibly a slightly bent rim or axle.

Move tires to see if the vibration follows a wheel.

Bent axle can be checked by jacking up the truck and spinning the wheels and watching for runout or wobble

Warn U joint? Runs on center under acceleration, but kinks out with slowing with engine in gear?

Btw, I’m 66 and I shake too

is it a split driveshaft? if so is the slip yolk clocked correctly? if off even a little it can bind and cause a vibration.
