I have a gel pad that I've had for several years but have not used recently. I got it out and it is very sticky, washed it in soapy hot water and it is still very sticky. has anyone had any experience with this and can I make it less sticky? I think if I use it as it is it might be uncomfortable for the horse. Why gel is sticky

Not I. I didn't even know you use gel pads on horses.

certain types of plastic decompose rapidly. no amount of cleaning can fix that.

I thought they used the collagen in horses to make glue… what’s the issue?

Did you get that through a mounted patrol refurb ?
I'd contact the manufacturer, or at least check their website for warnings or recalls
