I do not agree that "professionalism" means shaving. I'm in the military right now... and all I think about all day is getting out and getting a job I enjoy while growing the facial hair that I like having.


I also hate always having a short haircut. Guys do not have to be perfectly trimmed to be "professional", so I agree with Reno, completely.

IJ, yes it is paint code KE.
I have been reduced to a security guard, thanks to a idiot at my last job that rear ended me an blew out 3 of my discs in my back pretty much disabling me. Only work doctors will let me do. Thanks to Diabetes, no surgery is available for me, none will touch me.

But if this guy gets the job, I will non chalantly find out if he has a beard, most have them because of their religion, but this is not a religious job, seeing as how I am Cheerokee, maybe I will grow out my hair into a ponytail, my heritage has always done this, they had their choice. Another discrimination suit might be in effect, hee hee hee.

I have a full beard....People want to have a problem with it...let them.

Now in my case, I understand the problems with a beard at my workplace...We deal with food. I am exempt form these rules though because I work maintenance overnight... and because I think our HR rep thinks I am going to "go postal" on everyone at some point.

Seeing the topic name made me kinda nervous....I am getting sick of the Islamaphobia in this country....and I am an athist. I have learned about many religions and can respect people's right to belive what they want. only time I get mad is when people use it to ignore fact or try and shove it down my throat. What we are seeing with islam occured in every other religion too...it's not the mainstream we see...just the crazy people on the edges.

anyhow...given that this got Beard oriented...Beards rule!
