i decided to check all my valves and rods to be on the safe side and i cant get the cover off cause this metal pipe going from the intake to the exhaust. someone help me get this off. trying to take it off without taking the timing belt and gear off. but if its safe to do it that way i can.

That would be the EGR tube. Should be able to remove it with a wrench. Big nut on the fitting at the exhaust manifold and I forget whats on the top. I have a 4.0 though yours may be different.

yeah mines the 2.3l and i havnt got a wrench that fits it lol. i mean i just went ahead and took the timing gear and belt off and slid the cover up and back but still cant get the damn thing off. but i just put everything back to were nothing can get in there. it got dark lol.
