Ok...So "Bab's" is back on the road legally. (passed inspection in NYS)
I've got two oil leaks to deal with.
First oil leak is the sending unit(s). I installed a "T" adapter to run the dummy gauge and another line goes to a real oil pressure gauge. I needs to be reworked. (it seeps very slow drips...no biggie)
The 2nd one? The famous "Valve Cover Gaskets". I went with basic FelPro back when I built the top half before the truck went on the road. (new heads, both cracked due to it overheating).
I've heard tell about some valve cover gaskets having a spacer installed in the bolt holes to prevent someone like myself from over tightening the bolts. My torque wrenches stink at the super low end inch settings...and 5ftlbs or so is darn near impossible to gauge with any degree of exactness.
So does this exist? Or am I having a bad drug induced flashback? (For those that do not know? I suffered a major heart attack last year in January, had bypass and a deflib inplant...and this year was thyroid cancer....So I'm held together with spit and bubble gum/duct tape)
And if they do not? What's the best way to get the valve cover gaskets done without worry about them leaking later?
Thanks in advance!!!
