Well recently i have rebuilt a 2.8. When i bought the bronco it did not have any vacuum lines at all, however the solenoids are still mounted on the side. In my rebuild i got rid of the smog pump(and with that doesn't that mean i no longer have a need for EGR stuff to?) and i don't have AC. I know certain lines have to be hooked up for the engine and carb to run right? What do i have to have hooked up, also note the pcv and oil cap are not hooked up and i have no clue where they connect in at?

any help is much appreciated

The oil cap hooks to the air cleaner and the PCV hooks behind the carb, there is a spot for it there. If not hooked up you will have a vacuum leak from thge PCV not being hooked up. Since the emissions stuff is gone te EGR valve is of no use to you now. I dont know much of the crab. set-ups on the 2.8's other then they are a pain in the ass, like my dads is, because mine has a TBI unit on it which doesnt have the emissions stuff hooked up either.

Alright thanks, where exactly does the tranny line suposed to hook up at?

If its the a4ld tranny it is vacuum controled. I think it hooks up to the vaccum tree behind the carb, but not sure, I have a manual tranny.

Well its a c5 tranny, so yea, dont think its the same.

c5 on a 2.8? I dont remember much about c5 trannies.

Yea, all 83-85 B2 and Rangers had a C5 automatic if i am correct. Anyways do i still need the solenoids?

The automatic trannys from the factory are the a4ld tranny's. They didnt come with C5 tranny's.

Wow, brought back out of nowhere after almost 2 years.

Welcome to TRS btw.

You don't need the solenoids; they are controlled by the computer.
Someone just posted how to hook up the EGR without the computer; try and find that.
There is a "tree" behind the carb that should give you auto trans and other vac sources.

AND save those solenoids and post them for sale; someone may need them if they require factory smog.
