vacuum line question

There is a d sized battery sized vacuum and electrical connection that connects too the throttle body. What in the hell is that called and what is it purpose?! I need a new one and have no idea of what its unthe the hood for.

Nope, come to find out its the fuel vapor solenoid and the fuel vapor canister. Apparently I didn't have the canister at all hahahaha its amazing what you can learn by rebuilding a vehicle that dicknailed a deer year ago.
