Vacuum line on fuel rail regulator 98 3.0

Just finished installing an engine and every thing went well. One thing I missed was what attaches to the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail . There is a nipple and I cant locate what goes on it. Is it a vacuum line? Where will the line be coming from? Headed to get some fluids to see if the operation was a success or.

Does it go to the fuel pressure regulator? That should be at the end of the fuel rail.

yes. there is a line that I can't locate that goes to the reg.What line goes to the fuel pressure regulator. And where would that line come from? I waiting to turn the key. Everything but that line is connected.

Found the problem. Installed the vacuum lines from the 99 and they are different from 98. 98 the line turns back to the reg. 99 straight into the reg. Thanks for the response.

That's a Pulse Damper at the end of the fuel rail on a '98 Ranger, yes there would be a vacuum hose from that to the intake manifold.
It is there as a safety feature, in case damper diaphragm leaks.

'98 is a returnless fuel system so no fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail
