Vacuum line not plugged in

1997 Ranger 4.0L V6 Manual -
I have a vacuum line that I cannot seem to figure out where it belongs. I have moved it to all angles/lengths that it can go but there does not seem to be any place to plug it in.
When I noticed it, it was just laying there behind the engine oil cap (in picture). I followed it down and to the back left of the engine compartment (The corner behind my watch from the picture) and then it disappears. I have included a picture of that area from above, showing the gray line in the middle of the picture going towards the direction of the passenger wheel.
I don't know what symptoms this might fix if it gets plugged in. I have several things going on with the truck that I am now addressing.

Could someone please help me figure out where it goes? Thanks!

I know that the 1998-01 rangers have a vacuum controlled heater core bypass valve right there. I believe that is what is deleted by those brass tubes. It will only have vacuum when the HVAC is set to heat but someone may have bypassed it due to a heater core replacement. It was a fairly brittle plastic valve so it wouldn't affect anything if it was deleted but I do recommend putting something in to plug it just in case.

That brass fitting right by the end of the line in the first picture is where you heater bypass was deleted (a good move on the part of whoever did it) and that line went to the now gone valve.

Great! Thank you guys for the quick reply! At least now I have one less thing to worry about lol. Now onto the miss-firing while accelerating, intermittent issue with not starting (which I just ran a switch from my solenoid into my dash so I don't have to open the hood and touch a wire to nodes to start in a pinch) and several other things.

I have the original in my truck as last time I did cooling system work I just replaced it because. I used a four seasons as that was what I could get same day. Well next morning I wen tout to find a coolant leak and it was the heater core bypass valve I had just installed. Stuck the original back in and have not had any issues since. LOL

that is what I get for being proactive on shit with my truck.
