So here is the funny question. I have a 88 BII 2.9 with an a4ld.Today i just swapped out my vaccuum modulator with one i picked off another a4ld with less miles, upon inspecting it all looked okay but the tube where the vaccuum line slides on was weird the one coming off the tranny had just a tiny pin hole for air to flow. But the spare one i put in didnt have any hole it was like a regular line.

Has anyone come accross this before?

The old one that suspect is bad also just had a part number on it.The used one i put in has the ford logo and a bunch of part numbers. The reason i changed it out is because the tranny doesnt seem to shift to well even after being serviced, and when i added more vaccuum to the line it seemed to improve.I'll post feedback when i take for a drive and see if it has made a change.
thnx

Get one from your parts store they are adjustable and you can get it to shift right where you like it.

Careful not to lose the pin when you take out the vacuum "transmission" modulator.
