My credo
If you can't go through it or around it, then go over it.
So I kicked off my vacation this morning by waking up 2 hours late so I got stuck in morning work traffic in Chicago where I have coined a new word...... Roadicidal: combination of roadrage and homicidal........... because that's how I was feeling driving through Chicago and Madison. For those that care I among my way to Seattle.

Haaaa. I can only say this from the Go Go's, Bro:

Vacation
All I ever wanted
Vacation
Had to get away
Vacation
Meant to be spent alone

Have a great time and don't forget to RELAX!!!!!

Once you are past Chicago (one of my most hated places to drive BTW) it is smooth sailing to the West coast. Have a great time.

yuck! i hate traffic, hotlanta is pretty bad for crazy ass drivers too, or "Roadicidals" as well, i love making up new words, good job:icon_thumby:

let's make up a webster's dictionary entry for it:

Roadicidal [ro-de-sahy-dul] -noun

1. the act of being a crazy and/or violent while driving a motor vehicle
2. using ones motor vehicle in a crazy and/or violent manner

Used in a sentence:

"We almost got run off the road by that roadicidal lady driver."

"Four people were killed this morning in a seven car roadicide."

Driving to Florida through Altanta when I was 19 in my '88 2.9L, I didn't think I was going to make it out alive. :icon_rofl: Never seen Cops swarm like bees until then LOL.

I also have 3 more....
Double cornfield, double tarp, and full on double tarp...

much respect to those that can guess double cornfield and tell what movie gave me the idea.

If you guys followed my tweets you would know already

Try driving through atlanta downtown at 630 pm in an expidition with no passenger mirror and a 9ft box trailer. It comes down to just start changing lanes...they will hit the brakes. Not much else you can do. It takes a special breed to drive in that kinda traffic.

I am proud to be that breed. If you think Atlanta traffic is crazy, you ain't seen Boston!

I've driven it with a 26' box truck delivering HVAC ductwork for about 3 months. Never had an issue except for a coworker turning white as he saw me slice & dice through morning traffic with a 6-speed. He never rode with me again!

If he thought I was bad, he should've been with the other driver doing it a 48' semi. He would've puked his guts out!

oh i know!!! soul plane?

Double cornfield is for anything that is super creepy... the idea came from Nahan Fillion coining double rainbow for anything cool.... the movie that inspired double cornfield is Children of the Corn.

I have been to Atlanta, it is nothing compared to Chicago.

Update: We made Gillette WY last night. Going to make Spokane to tonight.

I've done Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, NYC, and many others all with a highway tractor and a 53' tridem step deck. Chicago is still my most hated. That cities roadways just suck! I'd rather drive through NYC than Chicago any day.

At least I'm not the only one taking a vacation. I'm forced to, it is either use it or lose. I will be fixing the Blazer's A/C, painting the storm ceullar door, and when those are done, go off-roading on my KLX motorcycle. :headbang:

Shitcago sucks, and not just the traffic. I avoid it to the point of going WAY out of the way if I'm heading that direction.

Update: fried the transmission in the Expedition.Stuck in Billings MT.

PO 712: trans temp exceeded 315*..........

Transmission fluid still looks decent, does not smell burnt, still shifting fine......... the OX off indicator is flashing and it won't shift into OD.

Book says to replace temp sensor and harness and change filter. Hopefully it can be done today.
