ok, i have a 92 ranger ext cab, 2wd, and i want to swap a v8 into it, but i dont really know where to start, what motor/trans do you reccomend? i want to keep it 2wd, also i want a better exhaust from the headers back, and i also want to supercharge it so an engine that is boost capable w/out much buildup would be nice.
i also need to know the harness, mounts, and anything else id need for the swap, and if i would have to get a new dash or could i keep my old one. thanks for any and all advice.

go to the tech library, there is an awesome article that tells you everything you need called v-8 swap. and if you are gonna run over 18psi on the stupercharger i highly highly highly reccommend a bottom end rebuild and cam it up to at least a 340 lift on intake and exhaust.

You will want to find a 5.0L HO out of a 88-92 Mustang or Lincoln Mark VII. These engines came with roller cams and forged TRW pistons from the factory. I would NOT exceed 10psi on one that is completely stock tho. Far as a tranny it would depend on what you want it to do. A stock tranny won't last very long behind a engine with a positive displacement blower.
