My truck has been sidelined by a leaky radiator.
It lasted 5 years but is now leaking from both upper corners.

The local shops say they can't fix an aluminum rad.
Something about they crack like glass and therefore need to be rebuilt totaly.
They also mentioned I should never have put an aluminum rad in a 4X4 in the first place.

Are they just trying to stiff me with a bill ($1,000) to build there own custom rad or are they correct?

I was looking online and Advanced Adapters seem to be the only ones who make a brass 4 core for the V8 conversion, are there any others?

There is nothing wrong with running an aluminum rad in a 4x4...They are just trying to bend you over without the vasaline...check out a gen 1 explorer rad. It will bolt right in and should be sufficient enough to keep your v8 Kool....

I bought a Be Cool aluminum for my 4X4. Welded tabs to bolt it to the core support. Done that on 2 different RBV with no issues.

There SCAMMING you.... Aluminum radiators are more reliable than those plastic turds. Thats a fact!
