this is the second time this has happened to me with this truck. first time I let it sit for 2 days and it started up with no problems. Now a few months later it's doing it again. I can crank it up fine and it will idle fine but as soon as I give it any gas at all, it starts to cut-out. the tachometer goes to zero and it almost dies but don't. It just goes back to idleing. I really want to find the problem. I can't let it beat me. I unpluged the mass air sensor but it wasn't the problem. Is it the fuel pump? Too low fuel pressure? EEC? what could it be

I'm having an identical issue with my 2003 Explorer. Mine started after replacing valve cover gaskets, I suspected a vacuum leak, but cannot find one..ANYWHERE! Yet my vacuum gauge reads a steady 8 (less than half of what it should). If you figure yours out maybe mines a similar issue. I'm at a damn loss.

Stuck open egr if it has it or iac not opening and closing
